Talking about Ekta Kapoor blowing up the T.V ratings and not mentioning Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi would be a crime. The first episode aired in the year 2000 and the rest is history. The show ran for 8 years and is amongst the most popular and watched Indian daily soap. The show featured some prominent celebrities like Smriti Irani, Ronit Roy, Hiten Tejwani , Jaya Bhattachariya to name a few.

2. Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki


Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki is one of the Ekta Kapoor golden era shows. Even this show began in2000 and it used to be telecasted right before Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. This show saw the debut of talented T.V actress Sakshi Tanwar as Parvati and had set a benchmark for ‘Bahu’ on Indian television. This show aired more than 1600 episodes and topped T.R.P charts

3. Kasautii Zindagii Kay


Anurag, Prerna and Komolika have become household names in India. The intriguing story told between these three characters creates an interesting, offbeat love triangle. The show first aired in 2001 and starred Urvashi Dholakia, Shweta Tiwari and Ronit Roy in lead roles. The show ended in 2008 but now it has got a reboot and stars popular T.V actors Parth Samthaan, Hina Khan and Erica Fernandez.

4. Naagin


Ekta Kapoor plays a key role in introducing C.G.I in Indian Television. Naagin is a show about a shape-shifter who wants to avenge her parents, who are murdered. The show has already had 4 seasons and it featured prominent actors like Mouni Roy, Adaa Khan, Anita Hassanandani as the Naagin of the show. Rumors of season 5 have also surfaced and Hina Khan is likely to be the new Naagin.

5. Kahiin  To Hoga


Kahiin To Hoga aired in 2003 and it was a show about five sisters who are brought up with middle-class values. The eldest sister Kashish, falls for a rich industrialist named Sujal, unaware that he will be responsible for ruining her life. Apart from the intriguing and convoluted story what caught the attention of viewers were actors Rajeev Khandelwal and Shabir Ahluwalia. These two had developed a separate fan base and a large chunk of audience would tune in everyday just for these two!
