Television actress Gehana Vasisth recently courted controversy when she got arrested for allegedly shooting and uploading pornographic videos. The actress was later taken into custody by Property Cell of the Crime Branch. The porn racket was busted after the Property Cell raided a Madh Island bungalow last week. Property cells had then arrested five people. For those who don’t know Gehana Vasisth’s real name is Vandana Tiwari and she was sent to police custody till February 10.
Now, here the latest update about Gehana’s porn row. According to a report in Midday, police have revealed that aspiring actors were being exploited on the pretext of featuring in a web show. Three victims have also claimed that they were forced to shoot ‘bold’ scenes with her production house. It is being said that producer-director Rowa Khan, alias Yasmeen Khaan, photographer Monu Sharma, actors Bhanu Thakur, Arish Shaikh and creative director Pratibha Nalawade were amongst others who were arrested in the racket.
The report further states that police believe Rowa is the brain behind the racket. Police said, “They have been uploading videos through HotHit app using foreign IP addresses as pornographic videos are banned in India.”
A senior police officer had revealed to Midday, “We have found her own [Vasisth's] pornographic videos on some websites. There are other leading and known models who have shared such videos on these websites which one can view by paying a subscription fee of Rs 2,000 or more. Earlier, ANI’s Tweet read, “Actress Gehana Vasisth has been arrested by Property Cell of the Crime Branch for her alleged role in shooting and uploading porn videos on a website. She will be produced before a court in Mumbai today: Mumbai Police.”
