The Coronavirus pandemic has taken several lives across the world so far and frontline workers are doing their best to curb the rampant spread of the virus. Even though the government has started the vaccination drive, with lockdown restrictions lifted in many parts of the state and country, there is a hike in the COVID-19 positive cases in the past few weeks. Now, according to a latest report, strict action was taken against a COVID-19 positive Gauahar Khan who broke quarantine rules.
Mumbai Police took to Twitter to inform that an FIR has been filed against a COVID-19 positive Bollywood actor who flouted quarantine rules. The officials shared a picture of the FIR report filed against the actor, without revealing the identity of the person. They issued a warning for everyone requesting citizens to ensure a well-deserved climax to the virus. The tweet made by the Police read, “No ‘Role’ Greater Than Helping Keep Mumbai Safe! FIR has been filed against a Bollywood actor who flouted quarantine rules and went shooting after testing positive for COVID19. We urge citizens to ensure a well deserved climax for the virus #PlayYourRole #TakingOnCorona” Indian Express reported that a BMC official said, “When we went to her home in Andheri (W), she did not open the door. We then learnt that she instead went out for film shooting. We then approached the Oshiwara police station.”

Meanwhile, according to the FIR copy shared by the Mumbai Police, the actor headed out for shooting at 00: 30 hours on March 15, 2021. The report stated that the admission of the crime was done at 3: 22 hours on March 15, 2021. As per a report, “An FIR has been registered at Oshiwara police station u/s 188, 269, 270 IPC, 51B of NDMA Act, 3 of Epidemic Diseases Act, on the complaint of a BMC official,” said S Chaitanya, DCP (operations) and PRO for Mumbai Police. In the past two weeks, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Manoj Bajpayee, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and several other names from the Hindi film industry have tested positive for COVID-19 and mentioned that they are under home quarantine.
