We had brought to you the heartbreakingand shocking news of TV actor Manmeet Grewal commiting suicide at his apartment, a few days back. The actor, who has worked in SAB TV's show Aadat Se Majboor, ended his life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan. Reason for his action was said to be extreme financial crisis.

Manmeet's family friend Manjit Singh had shared all the details with us and also how a local Gurudwara came forward to help him send Manmeet's wife back to Punjab. And now, he is making an appeal to the fraternity to help Manmeet's family in the tough times. He has shared an exclusive video with us. Watch below:

In the video Manjit says, "Manmeet and I have been extremely close from last five years. We have shared all good and bad moments together. He was a very happy go lucky person and nobody can believe he took such a drastic step. He had problems, there were dues on him to pay but it wasn't that heavy, that he ended his life. I don't know which devil in his mind convinced him to do that. I still can't accept his death and I feel he will come someday or will make a phone call to me. He may have left the world but people behind him are still suffering."

Manjit further talks about the plight of his wife. "Uski wife ko maine paanch din tak usi flat mein, usi pankhe ke niche tadapte hue dekha. She got so unwell that doctor's pill was not working on her and they told to admit her in the hospital but there was no one to take care of her. So, they suggested to send her back to Punjab soonest. Gurudwara commitee came ahead to help and she has finally gone back," said Manjit.

The actor also speaks about how because of the on-going pandemic, no one was ready to take Manmeet's body. He said, "The time is so bad that due to COVID-19, no one even came to take his body. People made calls to me from the industry but not a single person came ahead to help us."

Manjit also requested the fraternity and the association to which the actors belong, to come forward and show some empathy towards the deceased's family. He added that 5 days after Manmeet's death, the family was struggling to get permissions for travel with his remains. "Actors like us come from a non-filmy background as we too have dreams in our eyes. Even though our three days work payment is done after three months, but we still keep it going with same dedication. Sometimes our earning makes just for a month's house rent but we don't give up. But now I feel we should also be taken care of. I just want to request the association who issues our cards, saying that we belong to them, that whenever such unfortunate incidents happen with any of their members, they should come and meet his family and ask if they need some help."
