TV stars deal with trollers and slamming very often on the social networking platforms, one of the recent one to fall prey to this or rather something even more serious was producer Ekta Kapoor. Known to make some bold content in terms of her movies and now with the new avenue of entertainment being the OTT platforms, one of her latest web shows, XXX Uncensored was majorly slammed for its inappropriate content. BB13 contestant Hindustani Bhau has lodged a police complaint for the same.
Followed by which came yet another FIR objecting this inappropriate content in the web show from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Post which makers also deleted the particular scene which attracted these FIR and complaints, despite of it creator Ekta Kapoor continues to be targeted by trolls leading to rape and death threats on the social networking platform. Thus, in this situation standing strong by her side are TV actors such as Jasmin Bhasin, Ssharad Malhotra, Saumya Tandon, Iqbal Khan, Shweta Prasad Basu.
As reported in Hindustan Times, Jasmin Bhasin supporting the producer who worked with her in Naagin series said, “Ekta’s TV shows and films have been winning hearts for so many years now. Just because of one incident, we should not judge someone. Also, threatening anyone for anything is just not the solution. Ekta has been a fantastic producer and content creator. Things should be sorted peacefully.”
Ssharad Malhotra also expressing his thoughts on it mentioned threatening someone who has entertained you for year one for just one piece of content is unacceptable. “Trusting her creative sensibilities and vision, it would be very harsh to judge her on one incident that unfortunately has not gone down too well with the viewers. Yes, if there’s an issue, it needs to be dealt and sorted out amicably and maturely. Threats of any kind are completely unacceptable,” he said. Saumya Tandon taking a stand on the rape/death threat, mentioned how one has freedom of creative and if someone doesn’t like they have all the right to not watch it. She said, ‘“It’s a free world, if you do not like any content, you can wish to reject it. We’re in a civilised society, this is no way to react to any kind of creative work anybody has done. If you don’t like it, it is totally your right to reject it. Actor Iqbal Khan feels, “Ekta is a very strong-headed woman. She’s somebody who has been there for a very long time. She has become what she is at a time when it was still a man’s word. I’m sure she’s going come out of this. If there’s some kind of an issue that needs to be sorted, it can be done without getting abusive. And lastly Shweta Prasad Basu said, “It’s wrong, you are not the law, and cannot give threats to anybody. Even if it’s a woman or man.
