Divya Bhatnagar left for her heavenly abode on December 7, 2020, after succumbing to COVID-19. Her death, however, opened a can of worms in regards to her marriage with Gagan Sethi. It was alleged that Gagan used to physically and mentally assault Divya. The late actress' family and friends, including Devoleena Bhattacharjee, also came up with proofs of Divya opening up on her ordeal through messages and audio clips. Ever since then, Devoleena and a streak of other friends of Divya have been fighting for her justice.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, the Bigg Boss 13 star asserted how she won't stop fighting for justice until Divya's husband Gagan Sethi AKA Gabru is jailed for his wrongdoings. Devo said, "Divya losing her life to Covid doesn’t mean the trauma she faced can be forgotten. If we let go Gagan now, he’ll destroy many more lives. He already has a molestation and rape case filed against him in Dehradun and was in jail for six months. He simply used Divya’s popularity to run away from Dehradun, earn money but never loved her,” alleges Devoleena, adding, “I won’t stop till Gagan Gabru is put behind bars.”

Devoleena further questioned how not many from the TV industry are taking a stand for Divya as they fear it might affect their lives. “It’s painful to see how not many in the industry is standing up for Divya. In fact, I know some of them who’ve said they don’t want to get into it as this might affect their personal and professional life. How can people be so coward and selfish?” she added.

Divya got married to Gagan against her parents' will, as they were strictly against it. Now, police complaint against Gabru has been filed by Divya's family members in the Oshiwara police station.
