Asit Modi, producer of Taarak Mehta is in London holidaying with his kids- but buzz is, it's all not cool with Disha Vakani. Suddenly, the lady has realised that she should not let the golden goose slip away (must be the second-highest paid after
Dilip Joshi in the show) from her. You can say that she is now wearing the Chashmah NOT Ooltah. Tongues are wagging that finally she has opened the door of talks with Neela Telefilms, Modi's production house.
If that is the case, it seems that Disha initially felt that Modi won't replace her but bow down to her terms and conditions- but lately, after April 22 when she saw that
Modi was serious about his 30-day deadline which he had conveyed in his circle on March 22 (a story which we broke) and s
hortlisting few actresses to play Mrs Jethalal, Disha pressed the panic button.
Hot gossip in TV corridors is that Disha consequently had a brief talk with someone who matters in Neela Telefilms and indirectly conveyed that she has not taken a hard stand of not returning to the show. If this is anything to go by, her husband Mayur Padia who had interfered and placed rules before Modi that his wife would devote only a limited time to the show, also seems to have done a U-turn. It is human nature that Mr and Mrs Padia may want Modi to meet them at a common point--- and so it now remains to be seen if the show's head honcho gets some sort of settlement viable to him (of course he would like her to be back), when he returns from the UK, which is expected to be sometime around May 18/19.
Wonder why Mrs Padia does not take calls or respond to text messages. Need to ask her this if and when we meet.
Keep watching this space on the future developments on not just this interesting aspect in
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah but also for everything that brews on Indian television.
