Now, the latest update is Taarak producer has made up his mind about not recalling Disha Vakani aka Daya Ben. We hear that nothing has worked out between the two parties, no mutual consensus has been reached and no at-length communication has taken place. Now, Asit has decided that enough is enough- Disha not required anymore- and his decision has been circulated in the Taarak team as binding and final.
We had told you that Disha initially felt that Modi won't replace her but bow down to her terms and conditions- but when she saw that Modi was serious about his 30-day deadline which he had conveyed in his circle (a story which we broke) and has started short listing actresses for her role, Disha pressed the panic button and got in touch with someone who matters in Neela Telefilms (Modi’s production house). She had conveyed in not as many words but clear enough to understand that the actress is open to negotiations and is not rigid about not returning to the show at all. At that time, Asit Modi was on a vacation with his family in London.
So, what sealed the no-return of Disha? After Modi returned to India, the man finally called a few of his trusted lieutenants and had a heart-to-heart chat with them. "Let's firmly not have Disha in the cast and let's not go back and forth on it anymore," was the consensus when the meeting ended. Reason: UNlike her screen name Daya Ben, Disha hadn't been kind. We have now learned that those feelers were not free of the bag and baggage that her 'terms and conditions' will yet apply.
We also hear now, Modi is not in a rush to find the new Dayaben. Sources tell us that he is even contemplating some theatre artistes as replacement as he wants to have a very talented performer essaying Dayaben, which was unarguably done very well by Disha right from the first to the last episode that she shot for.
