Apara Mehta makes a big revelation about the Women and Child Development Minister of India. Yes, Smriti Irani, renowned for her portrayal of 'Tulsi Virani' in "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi," faced a challenging situation when she was requested to resume work shortly after experiencing a miscarriage. Apara Mehta, in an interview with Hindustan Times, disclosed the remarkable dedication of her co-star, who in spite of her personal trials, was back on set mere hours after her miscarriage. Mehta further unveiled that Smriti had also been filming during the birth of both her children, Zohr Irani and Zoish Irani. Speaking on the subject, Mehta expressed: “I know that she was shooting with us upto the previous day of Zohr’s (Irani, Smriti Irani’s elder son) birth and came back on the fourth day to shoot, because kya hi karein? In fact, both the times, when her daughter Zoish was also born, she came back to work.”
Apara emphasized that the experience wasn't unique to Smriti but rather a common challenge for every actor in the industry. Additionally, she disclosed that in cases of illness or discomfort, the production team would go the extra mile, traveling to the actors' location, ensuring they were camera-ready, and filming the scenes right on the spot. Apara reflected on the poignant instance of Smriti working shortly after her miscarriage. She stated, "By the time this happened, my character was already dead on the show, but I know it for a fact ki use aana bhi pada hoga and karna bhi pada hoga."
Apara Mehta further unveiled that the actors had limited flexibility in such situations, primarily because there were no stockpiled episodes prepared for broadcast at that time. She stressed the unwavering commitment to airing the episodes, underscoring that everyone on the team, herself included, continued to work diligently on the sets, even amid the various personal challenges they faced in their lives.
