Urvashi Dholakia might have risen to fame with her vamp role as Komolika in Kasautii Zindagii Kay. But this lady was already a star when she made her debut on television in the 90s with the very popular show Dekh Bhai Dekh. The actress was the youngest character in the show as she was just 15 and studying in school when she forayed into acting. But did know how she used to balance her studies and work simultaneously? Well, thanks to the crew who would patiently for her to finish off her school and come to the sets of the show.
During a recent interaction with SpotboyE.com, Urvashi opened up about Dekh Bhai Dekh and shooting during those days. She stated, "I used to finish school by 1-1:15 pm in the afternoon and then travel to R.K Studios in Chembur in my school uniform. The crew would wait patiently. The whole cast and crew were like one big family, off-screen also, I used to be the quiet one as I entered the show little late but they all were very welcoming towards me." Urvashi feels awesome that Dekh Bhai Dekh is being re-telecast but also wishes to be remade.
Interestingly, she said that the remake of the show will only happen with the original cast, "It but I also wish it would have been remade. In fact, there have been many trails and errors but nothing materialised. However, if a remake ever happens, it has to be with us only, boss. We are no less.”
Urvashi ended the conversation with something very candid as she said she doesn't want to watch the reruns of Dekh Bhai Dekh with her sons. "They have watched a few episodes, which are available on YouTube but sitting with them and watching it together, I may feel funny (laughs)," concluded Urvashi.
With the re-telecast of Dekh Bhai Dekh, Doordarshan is also bringing Shah Rukh Khan’s Circus, Ramayan and Mahabharat, Shaktimaan and many more iconic shows.
