The Delhi High Court has taken action to prohibit the unauthorized streaming of the reality television show "Bigg Boss" and emphasized that the proliferation of websites unlawfully broadcasting its content would contribute to piracy. The Delhi High Court responded to a lawsuit from Viacom18 Media Private Limited, has taken measures to prohibit the unlawful streaming and broadcasting of the reality TV show Bigg Boss season 17. The court's decision includes restraining unofficial websites from broadcasting, telecasting, streaming, retransmitting, or hosting any episodes of the show. It has been highlighted that these actions are necessary to prevent the proliferation of websites that illegally distribute the content of BB 17, which could significantly contribute to piracy. The court, acknowledging the immense popularity of the program, underlined that any unauthorized dissemination of its content would constitute a violation of the plaintiff's copyright over the broadcast and reproduction rights of the show. In response to the court's ruling, Viacom18's General Counsel, Anil Lale, remarked, "The issuance of this proactive injunction order highlights the court's deep appreciation for the intrinsic worth of content and the urgent necessity to combat piracy promptly. The court's proactive approach offers invaluable reinforcement to our ongoing battle against piracy."

Furthermore, the court highlighted that the plaintiff's subscription-based OTT platform, JioCinema, is at risk of losing its subscriber base if unauthorized websites are permitted to illegitimately broadcast these programs. With these strict orders from one of the top India court, Salman Khan's reality show wouldn't face much of piracy.
