Devoleena Bhattacharjee has been gracing her audience with her performance in the kitchen. The actress has taken over the kitchen and is enjoying her time in the
Bigg Boss 13 house. Devoleena also nailed her performance in the Hospital luxury budget task and won the task for her team with her brave and smart performance. Carrying her legacy inside the house, being an Assamese, on the occasion of Navratri, the actress is seen wearing authentic Attire of Assam on the first weekend of Bigg Boss 13 house.
The Attire she is wearing known as Makhela Chador. There are two main pieces of cloth that are draped around the body. The bottom portion, draped from the waist downwards, is called the mekhela (Assamese: মেখেলা). It is actually a form of a sarong, a very wide cylinder of cloth that is folded into one or two pleats to fit around the waist and tucked in. The folds are to the right and are very less (maximum two), as opposed to the pleats in the Nivi style of the saree, which are folded to the left and have multiple pleats. Strings are never used to tie the mekhela around the waist, though an underskirt with a string is often used.
A fitted blouse is often worn, though in the past and traditionally another garment called a riha was and is still worn. A riha is still worn as part of the Assamese bridal trousseau and in other indigenous traditional events like Bihu etc., but sometimes over a fitted blouse.
Devoleena surely looked ravishing in her Assamese attire and nailed her outfit of the day on the show looking graceful.
