After the return of classic shows like Ramayana, Mahabharat, Circus, Byomkesh Bakshi it’s time for India’s first-ever superhero drama, Shaktimaan. The much-loved TV show is set to be re-telecast on DD National. Shaktimaan was one of the most loved shows in the ‘90s. People were glued to their TV sets and could not afford to miss a single episode of the show. Due to the lockdown of 21 days to curb the deadly Coronavirus, the makers took a call to rerun the classic cults like Ramayan, Mahabharat and Circus until now.

Now, looking at the growing demand from the audience, the makers have decided to rerun Shaktimaan as well. Mukesh Khanna, who essayed the role of a superhero took to his Twitter account and tweeted a video. The caption of the video read, “130 crore Indians will together get the opportunity to watch Shaktiman on DD once again. Wait for the announcement.” To everyone’s attention, Shaktimaan aired on DD 1 from 1997 to 2005.

In the clip, Khanna said, “Getting to watch two epics of our country Ramayan and Mahabharat in one day was a matter of great happiness for the 135 crore people who are under lockdown. Sit at home and enjoy. There could not have been a piece of bigger good news. But I’d like to add something to this happy news for my Shaktimaan fans, that Shaktimaan is also going to come very soon.”Mukesh Khanna did not reveal any specific date or time of the show. He addressed fans to hold on and wait for the announcement.

Not only that, the icing on the cake is that Mukesh Khanna recently revealed, the sequel of the show is also in the pipeline. In an exclusive interview with Bombay Times, the actor-producer stated. “For the last three years, we have been working towards bringing out the second edition of Shaktimaan, which is contemporary, but rooted in our values because people wanted to know, aage kya hua.” (ALSO READ: Why Just Ramayana?
