A major fire broke out in December on the sets of Colors'
upcoming show Beypanha starring Jennifer Winget and Harshad Chopra. The show’s
set, located at the Cinevista Studios in Kanjurmarg, was gutted in fire. The
mishap claimed technician Gopi Verma’s life, whose body was recovered with 100%
burns.

After the accident, television producers and actors have sprung into action, to
ensure a mishap like this never happens again. Since TV stars shoot for long
hours to fulfill the commitment of their daily shows, they want to be better
prepared in case a tragedy like this strikes in the future.
CINTAA (Cine And TV Artistes Association) has taken an initiative to train
entire teams at TV show sets to escape a fire, unscathed.
CINTAA’s General Secretary Sushant Singh and Comittee Member Nupur Alankar
personally visited a few sets with a team of fire-fighting professionals, to
train TV crews. Speaking about the initiative to SpotboyE.com, Sushant Singh
said, "We have been urging the Producers Associations and Broadcasters to
actively work on the health and safety issues since 2015, but unfortunately
nothing concrete has been done so far. We cannot wait for another Cinevista
like tragedy to wake up the system, we would rather spread awareness and train
our members and workers to avert such tragedies in future."
Here are few pictures from the sets of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, where a
training session is in progress...

We are sure this initiative, is a step in the right direction.
Before the infamous Beypanha fire, sets of popular TV shows like Comedy Nights
With Kapil and Ye Hai Mohabbatein have been gutted in fire.
