Indian Idol 11 host Aditya Narayan recently hit the headlines after the news of him getting married to his long-time girlfriend Shweta Agarwal surfaced. However, soon after, an entertainment portal reported that Aditya has gone bankrupt and that owing to the lockdown, he is left with just Rs 18,000 in his bank account. He was also reported to have said that his savings had depleted, and he had to withdraw all the money he had invested in Mutual Funds. However, now, in another interview, he has rubbished reports of him going bankrupt, and clarified what he meant.
While speaking to TellyChakkar, Aditya Narayan refuted the news and said that the interview in question was taken a month and a half ago. He said that while generally answering about the decision of offices and shooting resuming, he replied looking at the current scenario and how lockdown has affected everyone. “I generally mentioned that I have bought a new apartment before the lockdown so being celebrity even, I have to think about EMIs and if pandemic extends for a longer period all of us have to suffer some way. I casually mentioned that mere 5 lakhs kat gaye hai EMI ke liye aur mere pas abhi 18K bache hai. But that doesn’t mean I have gone bankrupt and I have no money left me. After working for more than two decades and that too working continuously how can I go moneyless?” he said.
He then laughingly jokingly questioned what his in-laws must be thinking, and how he will receive more gifts at his wedding now. He, however, urged fans to look back at the work he has done in the past years, and asked them to not worry about him.
Aditya Narayan also mentioned how he has a simple lifestyle and knows how to spend his money, which is why he thankfully won’t have to face bankruptcy. However, he added that he was touched by the way people offered him help, assuming he was going through a financial crisis.
