The film industry, in general, is the worst hit due to the second wave of COVID-19. It has overturned the film industry, halting film production, and closing cinemas. While the first wave of the pandemic had a huge negative impact on the lives of daily wage workers and small-time technicians and artists, the second wave is having a massive impact on almost everyone associated with the industry. Even star producers are not an exception for this. Tollywood leading PROs Vamsi-Shekar who promoted innumerable successful films have spoken about situations in the industry, before and after the pandemic, and also the statuses of many upcoming movies.

Speaking about big tickets film releasing in the next few months Vamsi- Shekar said, "First of all, central and state governments may not permit theatres and cinema halls to operate with 100% seating capacity. They may give permission only when things come to normality. Most probably, small to medium range movies will release first. High-budget films will release only when theatres operate with full seating capacity." However when asked if Tollywood is ready to shoot films, when unlock process begins they respond, "Many producers, directors, and stars are not ready to resume film shootings until corona cases slow down completely. However, they are worried about a surge in film budgets due to delays in shootings and an increase in interests."

Vami- Shekar who have big projects in their kitty gives complete details of their films, "Adivi Sesh’s Major is done with 80% of its shoot. Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas’s Chatrapathi remake under VV Vinayak’s direction which marks the Bollywood entry of the actor and the director will start rolling whenever permission will be granted for film shoots. A massive set was erected in Hyderabad and when the makers were planning to begin the shooting, a lockdown was enforced. Soon after completing the Chatrapathi remake, Bellamkonda will begin the Karnan remake."

They further add, "Vijay Deverakonda and Puri Jagannadh’s Liger, the film had completed a major schedule in Mumbai and a new schedule was canceled due to the second wave of the pandemic. 60% of the film’s shoot is completed and only 40% of the shoot is left pending."

"Naga Shaurya’s Varudu Kavalenu and Lakshya are in the mid of shooting. Nithiin’s Maestro is in the initial stage of production. Rana Dagubatti's Virata Parvam has completed the entire shooting and the film is ready for release," they said.

Prabhas-Nag Ashwin's film will begin after the actor wraps up all his prior commitments. The entire pre-production works are finished and it is ready to go for the shoot. It will be the highest budgeted film in Prabhas’ career. Many top stars across the country will be working for the movie. Other than Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone, the film will also feature few other Pan India stars. The film will be made with a unique point, which will be the first of its kind on the Indian screen.

Dulquer Salmaan and Hanu Raghavapudi’s film completed a shooting schedule in Kashmir. Ravi Teja, after the success of Krack, and Ramesh Varma, after delivering a hit with Rakshasudu, are working together for an action entertainer Khiladi which is left with only 25 % of the shoot. It’s the highest budgeted film in Ravi Teja’s career. The film’s teaser got an overwhelming response and expectations are quite high on it. Action sequences composed by four action directors are going to be a major highlight.

Maha Samudram is nearing completion. It’s a different film. Siddharth is hoping for a comeback in Telugu and Sharwanand is also quite confident of scoring the biggest hit in his career with Ajay Bhupathi's directorial venture. Sharwa will start Aadavaallu Meeku Johaarlu, after completing his part of work for Maha Samudram. A special set created for the shoot of Nani’s Shyam Singha Roy in the outskirts of Hyderabad was damaged because of heavy rains. It’s an additional burden for the makers. The set has to be recreated before they resume the shoot. Nani’s Tuck Jagadish is ready for release. The family entertainer is done with all the formalities, except for censor certification. Nani’s other film Ante Sundaraniki completed its first schedule. Nazriya Nazim participated in the first schedule, while Nani will join the shoot from the next schedule.

Mahesh Babu and Parasuram’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata is in the initial stages of production. Trivikram Srinivas readied a different and commercial subject for Mahesh Babu. It will be a Trivikram mark film and the director will be presenting Mahesh Babu in a different role.
