Veteran Telugu actor Kaikala Satyanarayana has left for his heavenly abode. He passed away on Friday morning at the age of 87, due to age-related illness. He breathed his last at his residence in Hyderabad. According to Outlook, film industry sources informed that he was unwell for quite some time. 

He was well known for his roles as a villain and other side characters. He had an illustrious career spanning over six decades with more than 700 films under his belt. Not to mention he also served as a Member of the Parliament, he represented the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and other celebrities form the industry mourned the loss of the veteran.

Actor Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan, Ravi Teja, Cheranjeevi took to their twitter handles to share their condolence for the late actor. Mahesh Babu wrote, “Extremely saddened by the passing away of #KaikalaSatyanarayana garu. I have some very fond memories of working with him. He will be missed. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace”






India's PM Narendra Modi too took to Twitter to mourn the loss of the veteran. Paying an emotional tribute to the late actor, he posted a tweet written in Telugu. He wrote, "I am saddened by the passing away of the famous film legend Mr. Kaikala Satyanarayana. He is well known to many generations of audiences with his excellent acting skills in various roles. My deepest condolences to his family and fans. Om peace."



In his illustrious career, Satyanarayana received many awards including the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award and two Nandi Awards. 

He left behind his legacy and a wife and two daughters.
