RRR: Alia Bhatt, Ram Charan, NTR Jr Starrer To Release In 10 Languages Including Foreign Languages; Netflix Acquires Digital Streaming Rights

SS Rajamouli’s upcoming period drama RRR is one of the most highly anticipated films of the year. The film was to release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and several other languages. Now, it is being reported that RRR will release in multiple foreign languages as well. Streaming giant Netflix has acquired the Hindi digital streaming rights of the film. Netflix will also be streaming the movie in various foreign languages such as English, Portuguese, Korean, Turkish and Spanish. Meanwhile, Zee5 has bagged the digital rights for the film in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the same, and wrote, “ IT'S OFFICIAL... Besides releasing in #Hindi, #Telugu, #Tamil, #Malayalam and #Kannada, #RRR will also release in various foreign languages: #English, #Portuguese, #Korean, #Turkish and #Spanish... The digital streaming rights are with Netflix... OFFICIAL POSTER...” He further tweeted that PEN movies, who had acquired the rights of the film, sold digital and satellite rights of 10 languages for a massive amount, and that it is the biggest deal that the industry has seen. He also mentioned that RRR will release on digital platforms about 70-100 days after its theatrical release.

RRR is a fictional take on the younger days of celebrated freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharamaraju. The film will be SS Rajamouli’s next after the megahit Bahubali, and so expectations from RRR are sky-high.
