After making several announcements on Twitter, those producers who had promised to work with Rhea Chakraborty seem to have all disappeared, leaving a question mark on her career in Bollywood. Last year, she stayed in the news because of Sushant Singh Rajput's death. SSR's father filed a case against Rhea who was the actor's girlfriend and reportedly accused her of abetment to suicide.
While Bollywood seems to have shut its door on Rhea, Telugu cinema is apparently most happy to welcome her. One of the A-list heroes in Andhra told me, “She is most welcome here. She is pretty and talented. What have we got to do with her personal life? In the Telugu film industry we don’t judge actors according to what they do with their lives. Hopefully she won’t ask for as much money as some of the other Bollywood actresses.” ALSO READ: Rhea Chakraborty Lends Her Support To NCW’s Initiative To Help Pregnant Women; Shares Helpline Number For Expectant Mothers
Apparently Katrina Kaif, Shradha Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have been asking for anything in the price range of Rs 3-9 crores, and some of them are getting it too. Rhea flew into Hyderabad earlier this week to meet producers. Interestingly, Rhea started her career in acting with a Telugu film a love story titled Tuneega Tuneega in 2012 directed by M S Raju. The film launched Raju’s son Sumanth Ashwin as a leading man and was a moderate hit. So a return to Telugu cinema is a kind of homecoming for Rhea.
