Actress Raashii Khanna is a popular name in South Cinema with many blockbuster movies to her credit. She made her Bollywood debut with Madras Cafe opposite John Abraham before appearing in Tamil and Telugu films. The actress was recently seen Ajay Devgn‘s Rudra: The Edge of Darkness,’ which is a remake of BBC’s Luther. Besides her acting prowess, Raashii is also known for expressing herself and making some candid confessions. Speaking of this, Raashii recently recalled being body-shamed in the initial days of her career. She revealed that she was called a 'gas tanker' due to her weight.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, the World Famous Lover actress, on being asked about her worst criticism, said, "I think the worse is just that initially when I...actually I have been lucky with the roles I've got...but probably necessarily relating to my weight, because they used to say I am a gas tanker and stuff like that in the South when I started and I don't say anything because I was quite big for the mainstream that they have.”
She added that with time she did become fitter, not to please anybody, but because she realized that her job in showbiz requires that. “So I've faced all that bullying, online bullying, and stuff like that, and it honestly didn't bother me,” Raashii further revealed.
Raashii Khanna also opened up about struggling with PCOD (Polycystic Ovarian Disease) and revealed that because of this condition, it was difficult for her to maintain her weight. She admitted that negative comments about her weight and trolling did bother her initially but through her spirituality she managed to deal with it. In terms of work, the actress is currently busy shooting for her upcoming Tamil film ‘Sardar’, which also features Karthi. She also has film Yodha with Sidharth Malhotra in her kitty. The movie will mark her return to Hindi Cinema after nine long years.
