South superstar Nagarjuna has landed in legal trouble as he was reportedly notified to stop work by Mandrem Panchayat in Permem and ordered him to stop the work of excavating Ashewada. He was allegedly involved in ploughing a portion of the hill at Mandrem village of North Goa.

An IANS report quoted the Sarpanch, Amit Sawant who said that no one had approached them with relevant paperwork. He also said that he does not care if he is a star but he should do it legally.

“We did not know he was an actor. We are not against legal work. We welcome good projects but it should be done legally,” Sawant told IANS.

As per the reports, it was discovered that digging process was being conducted at Mandrem’s hilly area of around 6,500 square metres without a board describing the project on the property as required by law.

After panchayat members looked into it, they discovered that Nagarjuna reportedly owned the property.

Sawant also shared that the Panchayat was formed in September and he gave the actor the benefit of doubt before the notice was issued. However, no records of the permission was found and said that Nagarjuna now needs to respond to the stop work order with any permission or related documents that he may have in possession, reported News18.

Meanwhile, on the work front, the south superstar was seen in the Telugu film, The Ghost and the Bollywood blockbuster Brahmastra. While Brashmastra was declared a hit at the box office, The Ghost failed to impress both audiences and critics.
