Owing to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, the nationwide lockdown was announced in India last year in March. While the lockdown began to ease gradually, we now seem to be facing yet another wave of COVID-19 in India. Amid the growing number of Coronavirus cases, makers of Adivi Sesh starrer Major have decided to postpone the teaser launch event in Mumbai, which was scheduled for 28th March. Apart from this, there was also a sudden tragedy in director Sashi Kiran Tikka’s family, owing to which the teaser launch was postponed.

Makers of Major issued a statement that mentioned that the new date for the trailer launch will be announced shortly. “Wanted to do a national event for this national film in Mumbai in a big way. Slight change of plans :) Will keep you updated. Eppudu occhaam anadhi kaadhu annaya...Bullet....(well you get the idea) Reporting soon!” wrote Adivi Sesh in his tweet. The director of Major, Sashi Kiran Tikka had revealed on Twitter on Tuesday that his father Suryanarayana Tikka passed away on Monday in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh.

Adivi Sesh shared the obituary poster on his Twitter account and wrote, “The entire team of MAJOR is devastated. Our director @SashiTikka father passed last night. Very very sudden.”

The biographical film Major, produced by Sony Pictures Releasing International, G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment and A+S Movies, is a pan-Indian project and is Adivi Sesh’s Hindi film debut. It is based on the life of Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was martyred in action during the 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai. It also stars Sobhita Dhulipala and Saiee Manjrekar in important roles. It is scheduled to release on July 2.
