Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep has finally reacted to his Twitter spat with Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn over the Hindi language. His reaction came when he opened up about PM Narendra Modi's comment on the Hindi vs South language debate. In a recent interview, Kiccha stated that he didn't mean to start any kind of riot or debate and that it just happened without any agenda. The actor also mentioned that he just expressed his opinions.

Speaking with NDTV, Kiccha Sudeep lauded PM Modi's comment on the controversy and said, “I didn't mean to start any riot or any kind of debate. It just so happened without an agenda. It was an opinion I voiced. It was an honour and a privilege to see the certain lines come out of the Prime Minister's mouth. Everybody who looks upon their language with regard and respect, it's an overwhelming thing to see him speak this way.”

Talking about his Twitter war with Ajay, Sudeep explained, “I was not trying to take on anyone. I have the right to say what my opinions are when it comes to certain topics.” ALSO READ: Sonu Sood REACTS To Hindi Debate After Ajay Devgn-Kiccha Sudeep Twitter Spat; 'Don't Think Hindi Can Be Called Just The National Language'

On Friday, PM Modi shared his take on the ongoing debate over both languages. In a statement, he said, “Giving priority to local languages in the National Education Policy manifests our commitment to all regional languages. The BJP considers Indian languages the soul of Bharatiyata and the link to a better future for the country. I want to mention this especially because attempts have been made in the recent past to create new controversies based on language. We have to constantly alert the people of the country about this.”

For the unversed, Ajay Devgn and Kiccha Sudeep indulged in a heated argument on Twitter after the South actor opined that Hindi is no more a national language. Reacting to this, the Singham actor wrote in Hindi, “My brother, if according to you Hindi is not our national language then why do you release your movies in your mother tongue by dubbing them in Hindi? Hindi was, is and always will be our mother tongue and national language. Jan Gan Man.”
