Celebrated Telugu singer Mangli’s car was reported to be attacked when she was leaving a programme in the state of Karnataka. However, some reports went to an extra length claiming that her car was pelted with stones, damaging the vehicle. While the reason for the assault was not revealed, the singer has herself denied any incident of the stone pelting on her car and dubbed the circulation of the reports as fake news via her social media post.
The recent development comes as the singer was seen taking part in the Bellary Utsav programme at the Bellary’s Municipal College Ground. She proceeded backstage after her performance, where a huge number of her fans were waiting to see her. Some even broke into her makeup booth. A report also suggests that Mangli got into the car, attempting to leave the venue, but a few angry fans pelted her car with stones.
The police had to step in as a stampede-like situation grew. To manage the masses, they applied a light lathi charge. It is speculated that the real reason for the fans to spark up in fury had to do something with her previous stage appearance in Chikballapur in Karnataka.
Mangli had addressed the crowd in Telugu despite the fans being Kannada. When demanded that she spoke Kannada, a hesitant Mangli just spoke two lines in the language and it is speculated that this did not go well with the fans and hence they attacked her car.
Coming back to the big revelation, Mangli shared that no such incident took place and clearly mentioned that she completely denies “Fake news on some social media groups” about her.
