Heartfelt tributes have been pouring in from every corner for the legendary actor Dilip Kumar, who passed away this morning. Not just Bollywood, even the film industry in South is in deep shock and grief. Superstar Chiranjeevi, Jr NTR, Prithviraj, Sukumaran, Kamal Haasan  and Prakash Raj among others took to their respective social media accounts to pay tribute to the legend.

Chiranjeevi tweeted, “An Era comes to an END in the Indian Film Industry.Deeply Saddened by the passing of LEGEND #DilipKumar Saab. One of the GREATEST Actors India has ever produced,an Acting Institution & a National Treasure. Enthralled the world for several decades.May his soul Rest in Peace.”

“Dilip Kumar Saab's contribution to the growth of Indian cinema is priceless. Rest in Peace sir. You will be missed,” wrote Jr NTR.

Paying his tribute, Prakash Raj shared a photo of the late actor and tweeted, “A legend … an Inspiration… thank you for living a wonderful life #DilipKumar ji … RIP …”

Oscar award-winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty mourned the demise, tweeting, “The legend bids Adieu. For me it’s a personal loss, we started our career from you at #FTII Thank you for all those wonderful timeless performances. Rest In Eternal Peace sir.”

For the unversed, Dilip Kumar was admitted to the ICU in Hinduja Hospital, on June 29, after complaining of breathlessness.

On Wednesday morning, a statement was issued on Twitter by Dilip Kumar’s family friend Faisal Farooqui confirming the sad news of his passing away. His tweet read, “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, few minutes ago.  We are from God and to Him we return - Faisal Farooqui.”
