Thalapathy Vijay's much-awaited political entry has become the talk of the town for the last few weeks. The chatter around his political debut is soaring as he met the members of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (VMI) at his Panaiyur office in Chennai on July 11. Now, rumours are doing the rounds that the actor will go on padayatra across Tamil Nadu before the release of 'Leo'.
However, an official announcement regarding the same is still awaited.
Now, amid the rumours of a political debut, it is being speculated that Vijay is likely to quit films or go on a three-year break after he takes the big plunge into politics. The actor will be shooting for his untitled film with Venkat Prabhu in November. After wrapping up this project, he is likely to concentrate on politics full-time.
However, an official announcement from Vijay is still awaited. Earlier, India Today has reported that Vijay will float his political party in 2024 and would contest in the elections in 2026.
Thalapathy Vijay will be seen next in director Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Leo'. The action thriller, which could be part of LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe), will release in theatres on October 19. Following Leo, Vijay will begin shooting for Venkat Prabhu. Meanwhile, several reports suggest that he could team up with Director Shankar for his next.
