Tamil Actress Nayanthara Shares Her Shocking Experience Of CASTING Couch: ‘Was Asked For Favours In Exchange For Role’

Actress Nayanthara is a popular name in the South film industry as she has impressed everyone with her acting prowess in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. Just like any other actor, she too has had her fair share of struggles and even faced the casting couch. In a recent interview, Nayanthara opened up about her experience with the casting couch and made a shocking revelation. She revealed she was offered an important role in the exchange of 'favours' during the initial days of her career. 

Yes, you read that right! While speaking to a leading daily, as reported by Times of India, Nayanthara was asked for favours in return for a role. She revealed she 'boldly' refused the offer and that she only believed in her acting skills and had faith that her talent. To note, Nayanthara is not the first South actress to talk about her casting couch experience, several actors including Anushka Shetty had spoken about it. 

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Nayanthara has an array of big-budget and interesting films in the lineup. She is making her highly-awaited Bollywood debut opposite superstar Shah Rukh Khan in the upcoming film ‘Jawan.’ Besides this, she also has the Tamil movie Iraivan and two untitled movies whose working titles are Lady Superstar 75 and NT-81 in the pipeline. In an earlier interview with PTI, Nayanthara spoke about her journey in showbiz and asserted that she has learnt so much about the acting craft over the years. “There is so much that I have learnt, so much that I have gone through, but it is all been nice. Whatever mistakes I have made, the good and bad phases (I have been through), everything is good now. It is all a learning experience. It is not easy to be in the industry for 18-19 years, but the audience and God have been kind to me. I feel blessed,” she was quoted saying.
