Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan made his mark in the entertainment industry with his antagonist and gray characters. He took the internet by storm when he cracked disrespectful and distasteful remarks about his Leo co-star, actress Trisha Krishnan. Netizens as well as the industry came out in support of the actress and condemned the actor for derogatory statements. Now legal action has been taken against him, as Khan was booked by the Chennai city police.

According to a Times Now report, the 61-year-old actor was booked following the order from the Director-General of Police, Shankar Jiwal. Taking a suo moto cognizance of the issue, the National Commission for Women has recently issued a directive to register a case against the actor to the Tamil Nadu police. The report further adds that the Thousand Lights' All-Women Police have booked the Mansoor under sections 354 A (sexual harassment) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). For the uninitiated, during an event, Khan was heard saying, “When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought that I could carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes, and it's not new to me. This sparked an outrage on social media, as many condemned the actor for such derogatory remarks. The star cast of Leo including Trisha, director Lokesh Kanagaraj, Chiranjeevi, Kushboo and many other celebrities slammed the actor for his thoughts. After receiving so much backlash, the veteran hosted a press conference in Chennai to defend his comments and stated that he will not apologise to Trisha Krishnan. He even went on to accuse everyone for not understanding his ‘funny’ statement. 

The South Indian Artistes' Association, Nadigar Sangam too put a temporary ban on the actor until he issued an apology, which further enraged him. Mansoor has given them an ultimatum to withdraw the bas as they didn’t seek an explanation from him. The actor has also filed a defamation case against the actress as she refused to act with him.
