The Madras high court’s ruling in support of the LGBTIQA+ community was appreciated by the members of the community and its supporters. As per the reports, the ruling suggested a prohibition on health workers from seeking medically ‘cure or change’ the sexual orientation of people from the society to trans-sexual or the gender identity of transgender people to cisgender.
Also, lots of guidelines by justice N Anand Venkatesh given about matters from gender-neutral restrooms in educational institutions to suggesting separate jail for transsexuals, have been laid down. The Kollywood actress Aathmika comes forwards and appreciates the move of the ruling by the High Court. She took to her Twitter handle and posted a note that reads – “The judgment by justice N Anand Venkatesh deserves our salute “...Ignorance is no justification for normalizing any form of discrimination “ A leaping step towards the progress of humanity “.
Aathmika also posted an image with Pride colors that show the court rulings along with a picture of justice N Anand Venkatesh. She also put hashtags #Pride2021 and #Pride. She tweets. Meanwhile, on the professional front, the actress will next be seen in Vijay Antony’s ‘Kodiyil Oruvan’.
