The Karnataka police, in a major crackdown, has arrested three persons including a TV actor in Kerala, for drug peddling. The cops seized 191 grams of MDMA and 2.80 kilograms of ganja costing Rs 12.50 lakh from the accused on Friday. 

As per an IANS report, the accused are identified as Siyaz, Mohammad Shahid and Mangal Thodi Jathin. They are reported to be from Kerala, while accused Shiyaz worked as an actor in Malayalam television.

The report also suggests that the accused sold the drugs to students of reputed colleges and the elite public in Karnataka. They operated an inter-state gang and cops slapped the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) 1985 on them, as reported by the officials. 

The IANS report further stated, the police nabbed two accused persons from a place close to NIFT College in Bengaluru and seized Rs 6 lakh worth 101 grams of MDMA and 2.80 kilograms of ganja.

Post the grilling of the two accused, the police found out that the third accused selling drugs near the service road at Agara Lake. DCP South East C.K. Baba appreciated the efforts of the policemen in breaking an inter-state drug cartel.

In another case, the Bengaluru police recently seized property worth Rs 1.60 crore of a drug peddler after a probe revealed that he had bought various lands using the money that he earned by selling drugs, said officials. The Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested Mruthyunjaya (50), in July and seized drugs worth Rs 80 lakh, as reported by Times Now.

Mruthyunjaya was caught from KR Puram in July. Hashish oil including ganja worth Rs 80 lakh was seized from him.
