Renowned Malayalam actor Innocent Vareed Thekkethala is one of the most sought-after celebrities in the entertainment industry. With his amazing mimicry skills and comic timings he gained recognition and still remains a favourite among the masses. Well, the actor was admitted to a private hospital in Kochi on Wednesday after he complained of feeling uneasy.
According to ETimes, the doctors believe that he could be suffering through a cancer relapse. The actor was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, however he had responded to the treatment and gotten better. From then on he has been publicly talking about his battle with the disease. Innocent even wrote a book ‘Laughter in the Cancer Ward’ to spread awareness about cancer. For the unversed, his book focuses on the medical care he received and how he dealt with the mental pressure during his recovery.
Fans have been left in deep shock reading the reports of Thekkethala’s hospitalisation and well-wishers have taken to social media to express their concerns for the actor. Many have even wished for his speedy recovery. They have showered him with love and appreciation hoping to see him out and about his day like usual.
Talking about his work, the comedian created his own niche in the Malayalam film industry. The 75-year-old has worked in more than 750 movies including projects in English, Tamil and Kannada. Not only does he have a very illustrious career of decades, but he has also served as the president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). He has held the title for the past four consecutive terms now.
