Popular Kannada actor Sampath J Ram’s left for his heavenly abode on Sunday. At the age of 35, he was found hanging at his residence in Nelamangala, Karnataka. His untimely demise left the entertainment industry in shock. Earlier, it was reported that he had been battling depression due to lack of good offers, however, now it has come to light that his suicide was a prank gone wrong.
His friend and co-star Rajesh Dhruva opened up about the entire incident. In an interaction with Times Of India, the actor clarified that Sampath wasn’t a weak-minded individual. He went on to reveal that the late actor had decided to prank his wife after a small fight with her. However, things didn’t go as planned and he ended up losing his life. He told the publication, “On the fateful night, he had a minor squabble with his wife, which happens in every relationship. Later, just as a prank, he had threatened to die by suicide and tried to hang himself. Unfortunately, he lost his life in the process.”
Shedding light on his relationship with the deceased Agnisakshi actor and his wife, Dhruva revealed that they have known each other for years. He went on to share that he even did their pre-wedding photo shoot about 12 years ago. The couple was pregnant with their first child and were expecting to embrace parenthood in the next four months.
For the unversed, Sampath J Ram’s mortal remains were kept at a private hospital and were later shifted to his hometown of NR Pura for the final rites.
