According to Mumbai Mirror reports, Ammy Virk said, “Kabir sir asked me to audition and checked my cricketing skills, particularly the bowling action (Balvinder was a fast bowler who famously clean-bowled West Indies batsman Gordon Greenidge with a huge inswinger during the finals). Soon after, I got a call that I had bagged a role.”
Ammy has attended several workshops under the supervision of Sandhu. The Punjabi charmer will start filming for his portion from the first week of June. The whole team of '83' trained under the supervision of the original players in Mumbai and Dharamshala, the session was very helpful for the entire team. “It felt like the entire country had come together for the film,” says Ammy Virk.
He is all praise for Ranveer Singh, the actor said he still remembers how humble and positive he was during their first interaction.
After this film, Ammy will be next seen in another multi-starrer, 'Bhuj-The Pride of India'. The movie features Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Parineeti Chopra and Rana Daggubati. Lastly, when asked about Punjabi films, the actor said he will make it a point to act in at least one film a year.
