Here it is! If you thought women can’t take on to the heavy built men, Aamir Khan’s reel-life daughter Geeta Phogat will give you ample proofs to show otherwise.
The latest song from Dangal- Dhaakad is all about women power and a glorious father jumping around the wrestling field as his daughter tastes victory in every fight. Aamir comes across quite convincing and the fights between Geeta and the male wrestlers look extremely genuine and entertaining.
Coming to the song, it has been sung by Raftaar who brings out the flavour of the film through the song. Lyrics have been penned down by Amitabh Bhattacharya and it is composed by Pritam.
Dangal, is based on the real life of champion wrestlers, Geeta and Babita and their coach father and chronicles their journey from a small village in Haryana to global fame.
Aamir Khan who plays Mahavir Phogat (Geeta Phogat’s father in the film) recently attended the real Geeta Phogat’s wedding on November 20 in Haryana. Geeta Phogat who is the first Indian woman wrestler to qualify for the Olympics, got married today in Balali village to another wrestler, Pawan Kumar. So, it’s was quite imperative of her reel father, Aamir Khan to be a part of the festivities, which Aamir Khan did. He attended the wedding and was dressed in a typical Haryanvi traditional wear. Even Sakshi Tanwar, who plays Aamir's wife in the film, was present at the wedding.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal is scheduled to hit theatres on December 23.
