Sridevi will return to the big screen after five years with Mom, a thriller which revolves around a mother who goes to great lengths to protect her family.
The first single from the soundtrack, O Sona Tere Liye, is out and it is a powerful yet melodious number, sung by none other than AR Rahman, who has composed the film’s album. Check it out:
The lyrics have been written by Irshad Kamil and the song shows the family in happy times before tragedy strikes. O Sona Tere Liye has been shot in the scenic locales of Indian hill stations and the beautiful scenery is the perfect visual aid to the soothing number.
The film stars Pakistani actress Sajal Ali as the young ward of the family and the bond between her and Sridevi is a touching, yet mysterious one.

The film also sees Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui as the patriarch of the family.
Sridevi’s last outing on the big screen was Gauri Shinde’s English Vinglish. The film was highly appreciated by both- critics and moviegoers and everyone loved Sridevi in the film, which just means that fans are eagerly waiting to see her yet again on the big screen with Mom.

Mom, directed by Ravi Udyawar, is set to release on July 7. It also features Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna in pivotal roles.
