Generally, an AR Rahman concerts calls for celebration among fans and never has the Mozart of Madras faced flak over the selection of songs. However, on July 8, the Academy Award winning composer performed at Wembley in UK and received backlash for singing fewer Hindi songs. The concert Netru Indru Nalai is titled in Tamil, which means yesterday, today, tomorrow.
In March, AR Rahman took to Facebook to make the announcement. He put out the post with a caption: “BTOS Productions and I are pleased to announce "Netru Indru Nalai" on the 8th of July at the SSE Arena, Wembley. Thank you for your patience, understanding, trust and love. It fuels our creativity, relentless hardwork and motivation. Finally, we have surpassed all our technical glitches and we are now ready to bring the concert to you on July 8th. The theme of the brand new concert will be 25 years of my musical journey from Roja to Kaatru Veliyidai.
Tickets purchased for the old concert dates (London- SSE Arena -March 24th)
(Birmingham-Barclaycard Arena -March 25th)

Cut to July 8, a majority of attendees at the concert were extremely disappointed with the fact that the band sung few Hindi songs. The fans took to Twitter to express their displeasure. As per a few attendees, the concert witnessed a maximum number of walkouts.
An attendee even said that the concert was lip-synced.
Another attendee felt the set list could have been better with more number of Hindi songs.
