9X Media’s indie music platform SpotlampE partnered with Sunidhi Chauhan to launch her latest single ‘Ye Ranjishein’, and the song released yesterday. This song is Sunidhi’s first independent track after 2 decades, and the song has been receiving a lot of love from her fans. Now, while speaking to SpotboyE’s Manish Batavia, Sunidhi Chauhan opened up about her experience while working on this track.
Sunidhi talked about the collaboration with Ye Ranjishein’s music composer Shruti Rane, and said that her experience was wonderful. She revealed meeting Shruti for the first time and immediately falling in love with the song as it was composed beautifully. “Immediately, I fell in love with the song, and I said 'let’s just do this' Then we discussed everything about the track, the lyrics.” She added that lyricist Rajesh Manthan penned simple lines with such deep meaning, that she was impressed.
Towards the beginning of the music video of Ye Ranjishein, we hear a shayari in Sunidhi Chauhan’s voice. Speaking about that, she said that they all came up with the idea of adding shayari at the beginning of the song. The question was whether the shayari should be sung or spoken. “I thought it will be something new for me to do, so spoken shayari karte hain.”
When asked if Sunidhi is a real life shayarana, she said that she loves shayaris. “I am a romantic, so I think jaha bhi koi khubsoorat shayari kaano me padti hai, I feel like I belong to this world. I am very fond of shayaris. I didn’t imagine it to come out so nicely and swiftly,” she said. For those who haven’t watched the music video yet, check out this soulful single below.
