This Friday, Ayushmann Khurrana and Jitendra Kumar will meet the audience in theatres with Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. Like always, this time too, Ayushmann is coming with yet another quirky tale with a hilarious take on the stereotypes surrounding same-sex relationships in India. Talking about the music of the film, it has already released two remixed songs- Pyaar Tenu Karde Gabru and Aree Pyaar Kar Le and one original Mere Liye Tum Kaafi Ho sung by the man himself. Pyaar Tenu Karde Gabru is sung by Romy.
When the song was launched, it received massive criticism and backlash as it is a remixed version of Honey Singh and J Star’s Gabru song. Romy sat down with us for a small chit-chat where we happened to ask him about the criticism he received for the remake version. Romy told SpotboyE, “Whenever a song is remade, criticism is bound to happen. Especially from the people, who have already heard the previous version. So, the old one was a Punjabi song but this one is a pure Bollywood Hindi number and also has a different arrangement. Even, the texture of this song is overall different. The melody is the same and when the melody is the same people connect to it.”
Further, we asked him about those who said that the original version was much better, he told us, “Remake is such a thing that some like it, some don’t. Some like the song and say that the old song has come in a better version, while there are also a few who don’t like changes and would not even listen to the new version. So, when a song is remade, the comparison comes with it. Since it was my first time, I was prepared for criticism and comparison from the beginning. I knew this was going to happen.”
Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan also stars Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao in pivotal parts. The film that’s directed by Hitesh Kewalya, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar is slated to release on Feb 21, 2020, setting up a clash with Dharma Production’s Bhoot: The Haunted Ship, this Friday.
