Due to the tension like situation in the country over COVID-19 pandemic, many celebrities are trying their best to support relief funds. While the government has been making efforts to create awareness, celebrities have been shooting short films and music videos to spread awareness from home. After Bollywood celebrities, actors and filmmakers joined hands to help raise funds for the relief funds, singers Asha Bhosale, Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam and 15 more singers have come forward for a virtual concert titled Sangeet Setu to raise funds.
Speaking of the virtual concert, the audience will be witnessing singers S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Lata Mangeshkar, Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Hariharan, Sonu Nigam, Sudesh Bhosale, Asha Bhosle Kailash Kher, Salim – Sulaiman, Shankar Mahadevan, Alka Yagnik, Kavita Krishnamurti, Subramaniam, Pankaj Udhas, Shaan, Talat Aziz, Suresh Wadkar, KJ Yesudas, and Anup Jalota with the start of the concert being hosted by Sooryavanshi actor Akshay Kumar. As the 18 singers have joined hands, they will be helping raise funds for the PM-CARES Relief funds.
Talking to The Times Of India, singer Sudesh Bhosale who has voiced songs like Shava Shava and Jumma Chumma mentioned that the PM’s office is helping the singers in the initiative and shared how they are appealing to people to share whatever is possible even if it is a penny. He said, “The PM’s Office is supporting us in this concert, and we are appealing to the people to contribute in whatever way possible, even if it’s just a rupee.”
