Atif Aslam continues to bear the brunt of the ongoing controversy over banning Pakistani artistes. Last month, the singer’s concert was cancelled in Gurgaon (Atif Aslam’s concert gets cancelled in Gurgaon, Sep 29), and now, the 33-year-old singer has been dropped from the sequel of Tum Bin 2.
A source close to director Anubhav Sinha said, “The team of Tum Bin 2 wanted both Atif and Dwayne Bravo to come together for the peppy number. But in situations like these we cannot even think of getting Atif on board. The song will only be sung by Dwayne as of now.”
Tum Bin 2 is the sequel to the 2001 sleeper hit, Tum Bin that featured Priyanshu Chatterjee, Sandali Sinha, Himanshu Malik and Raqesh Vashisth in pivotal roles. The second instalment stars Neha Sharma, Aditya Seal and Aashim Gulati. Tum Bin 2 hits theatres next month.
Coming back to the Paki artistes, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan too bared the brunt of the current tension between India and Pakistan. SpotboyE.com was the first to tell you that he has been ousted from TP Aggarwal’s Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laddoo Deewana which has Akshara Haasan and Vivaan Shah in lead roles (MNS Effect: Pakistani Singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Thrown Out Of A Film, Sep 28). The producer stated that if Rahat expresses his sadness over the Uri attacks, he will retain his voice. As of now Aggarwal is looking out for another singer for the romantic song which was shot in Kashmir.
