AR Rahman, Shekhar Kapur's Associate Samir Bangara Passes Away In A Car Accident; Vishal Dadlani, Harshdeep Kaur Mourn The Loss

Entrepreneur Samir Bangara passed away on June 14, 2020, in a car accident. He was the managing director at Qyuki Digital Media, and also co-founded the company with AR Rahman and Shekhar Kapur. Vishal Dadlani,  Harshdeep Kaur, and others from the music industry were shocked to learn of his tragic demise and they took to Twitter to mourn the death.

Music composer-singer Vishal Dadlani tweeted, “Just heard that @samirbangara is no more. Horrible, heartbreaking news. Man's been a friend for a long time. Such a good guy, so straight-up. Helped so many people build careers out of nothing! His legacy will remain. Much love & strength to the family. 2020, enough please!” Singer Harshdeep Kaur wrote, “Such shocking news. This is terrible." Playback singer Aditi Singh Sharma mourned his demise and tweeted, “Just heard the terrible news of @samirbangara passing away, I literally cannot believe it. He was such a nice guy, fit, young, well spoken, helpful & has built so many successful careers,I am shocked. My deepest condolences & strength to his family & everyone at @MyQyuki #rip.”

Filmmakers Guneet Monga, Ashoke Pandit also expressed their grief.


Samir Bangara, AR Rahman and Shekhar Kapur had come together to create a virtual platform for creative people- Qyuki Digital Media. It was initially launched as a digital music startup in December 2012.
