Born in a Bengali family, Shreya Ghoshal's tryst with music started at an early age of four. Since childhood, she was passionate about music and started taking training. At the age of six, Shreya Ghoshal started learning Indian Classical Music and by the age of sixteen, she had already impressed many with her sur and taal. She took training from Padma Shri recipient late Kalyanji Bhai of Kalyanji-Anandji duo.
At the age of 16, she took part in a singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and won. She got noticed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali's mother on TV, and that's how she got her big break in Bollywood. Shreya, at the age of 17 went on to sing for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's most successful film Devdas. She became the voice of Paro essayed by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She impressed everyone so much with her beautiful singing for Devdas that she won a National Film Award, a Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer and a Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent.
Ever since then, there has been no stopping for Shreya Ghoshal. She has sung plenty of hit songs such as Agar Tum Mil Jao, Deewani Mastani, Ghoomar, Mohe Rang Do Laal, Dhadak and many more. And the list of awards she has won is endless. It is reported that the singer has sung in more than 12 languages including Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Bhojpuri, Tamil, Telugu, Oriya, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Nepali and more.
