Shalmali also agrees that technology has taken over emotions. She reveals, “While shooting this song, I realised how these technologies have taken over. Imagine, I chat with my mom on Instagram sometimes. So this time, I specifically told my mother that I will meet you in person and then we will talk.”
We quiz her take on relationships these days as most of them come with an expiry date and she asserts that she believes in making things work out rather than letting it go. Just the way a singer does lot of riyaaz to get his/her sur perfect.
Shalmali who’s quite a popular name in the film industry today, wants her fans and followers to know who the real Shalmali is. She says that her followers recognise her voice and name, but not all of them would be knowing her by face and she wants that to happen.
Well, she even surprised us when she said that she isn’t a pro yet at understanding the music business and hence, every track that she has sung so far, made her feel like it's her first time. We ask if she has ever faced a situation where she recorded a song but it never got released and she nods her head in agreement. The singer even states that there would be no singer who hasn’t gone through this kind of situation.
Shalmali who has also judged a reality show states that the platform gives opportunity to new talent. However, she cautions them that they shouldn’t come in with the mindset that winning a reality show will build their career immediately as they need to work hard to prove themselves.
Finally, Shalmali believes that the growing trend of music videos will take over film songs very soon.
