This week the nation saw a great deal of disagreement on law, religion, and constitution that sparked protests spiralling out of control. The M-town has been silent so far on the situation but now Radhika Apte, Amruta Khanvilkar, and Aaroh Velankar have spoken up.
There have been mixed opinions about the situation amongst the media, the citizens, the leaders as well as celebrities.
Radhika posts on Instagram stating a clear opposition to the CAA and NRC. She has posted a piece of information talking about how the CAA is unconstitutional and against the country’s unity, diversity and secularism. This was originally a post by Smriti Kiran, and it was reposted by Radhika to support her views.
Amruta Khanvilkar re-posted the video of YouTuber and video blogger Prajakta Koli, where she reads out of the Preamble of Indian Constitution. The constitution reminds us that any act that changes the fundamental vision of our ‘Nation’, is unconstitutional. Amruta wrote, “This truly sent a chill down my spine. We keep speaking about the future and burn our present ... let us at least learn rightfully from our past ....from our leaders who laid the foundation of our country @mostlysane thank you for this”.
Aaroh is one of the supporters of the CAA and NRC movement. He says, “I am with my government on this one. Let us all be informed. Debate but not fight. Protest but not violently. बाकी काेर्ट आहे! माझा विश्वास आहे! जय हिंद!!”. He trusts firmly in the government and their ideologies and hopes to reduce confusion by spreading more information.
