The director of Kalat Nakalat, Raju, Majhi Aai, and Dankyavar Danka passed away yesterday at the age of 65. Kanchan Nayak’s death has left the Marathi film industry in shock. His debut directorial Marathi film Kalat Nakalat starred Ashwini Bhave who took it to Instagram to share her grief with her fans. The film featuring Vikram Gokhale, Ashok Saraf, Nilu Phule, Savita Prabhune, Ashwini Bhave, and others won the National award for the Best Marathi film.

The actress writes, “Just when I am trying to make sense of a tragic death of Sushant... a young superbly talented actor, I am hit with another shocking news. Kanchan Nayak is no more! I am deeply saddened by the passing of my beloved director of Kalat Nakalat ‘Kanchan Nayak’. Audiences loved my portrayal of Manisha Salkar in that movie. I own the success of Kalat Nakalat to Kanchan, as he allowed me to be myself and showed trust in me. May his soul Rest In Peace!”.
