National Award winning choreographer Saroj Khan passed away on July 3, 2020 due to cardiac arrest. In a career spanning 40 years, she had choreographed some of the most memorable songs in Bollywood. Madhuri Dixit was her favourite student and the actress once shared en emotional moment with Saroj Khan on the IIFA stage. 

Madhuri Dixit once paid her tribute to her mentor and dance trainer Saroj Khan in the 20th edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) award 2019. Madhuri shared the post on her Instagram sharing her precious moment. She wrote, “About almost every song we have done together, we have tons of memories attached to it. I am glad that I could give a tribute to the magical @sarojkhanofficial ji The energy of @shiamakindiaofficial’s whole team was great and a big thank you to @deepak5678 for his fabulous choreography! #iifa20 #iifahomecoming.” 





Madhuri Dixit worked with Bollywood’s legendary choreographer Saroj Khan in the most iconic songs of the 90s like Ek Do Teen from Tezaab, Mera Piya Ghar Aaya from Yaarana, Chane Ke Khet Mein from Anjaam, Dhak Dhak from the famous film Beta. 
Saroj Khan was popularly called as Masterji by all industry stars. Sridevi, Malaika Arora, Kareena Kapoor and all the other popular stars had been trained by Saroj Khan in their dance numbers.
