Ravi Jadhav in his debut film ‘Natrang’ gained tremendous critical and commercial success. His biopic ‘Balgandharva’ starring Subodh Bhave too was a grand success and made a great deal of buzz in the market. His next film Balak Palak set Ravi Jadhav apart and put him in the A-lister filmmakers of M-town.

Ravi Jadhav is a respected industry director known for his unique style of filmmaking. He has directed iconic films that changed the way people look at Marathi cinema. He is the master of his craft. He may deliver few cinemas in a year, but he ensures they leave an impact on the minds of the audience. He is also a responsible netizen. His social media will always promote, unique ideas and thoughts that impact the society, our culture, or living.

Recently, Mumbai's Traffic Police experiment with a witty yet brilliant move in a motive to make Mumbai honking-free. They launched a The Punishing Signal campaign. This involves connecting decibel scanners to traffic signals, thus when the decibel level exceeds a dangerous 85dB, the signal timer will reset itself to 90 seconds or more forcing motorists to wait longer at the signal. The idea is ‘feel free to honk if you don’t mind waiting at traffic signals’. Ravi loved this idea and thus retweeted the video and appreciated this move. He writes “Brilliant initiative by @MumbaiPolice and @FCBInterface !!! Many congratulations to the entire creative team”.

The video shows, the city, and its traffic, the tendency of motorists to honk at red lights, how the signal goes on and on and people get confused, then the poster of ‘Honk louder, wait longer’ comes up, bystanders start laughing, some take time to register the fact, while some look guilty, and two traffic police personnel exchange high-fives saying “Kashi vatli idea [How did you like the idea]?”

This is really an opinion that Mumbai’s Traffic Police is seeking. If the idea is liked by many, this will become an effective policy. With responsible figures like Ravi, stepping up in favor of this we can hope Mumbai soon becomes Honking-free.

Jadhav who directed captivating cinemas like Natarang, Balgandharva, Balak-Palak, Timepass, Timepass 2, Bioscope, Nude, and Banjo is certainly impressed by this idea.
