The COVID-19 global pandemic that started last December is spreading rapidly across the globe. After a nationwide lockdown for over 100 days, the operations began in June phase by phase. Similar to other industries, the marathi film and entertainment industry is also trying to get back up on its feet after the major blow. During these trying times, when the local artists and technicians were left jobless, the industry supported the daily wage earners who work from paycheck-to-paycheck. Even after unlock, the artists are struggling to make ends meet as the payment will happen only after 90 days.

Amidst this tension, the Producer Guild announces monthly wages to artists. Hemangi Kavi who was among the few champions of the movement to bring this issue to light shared a gratitude post celebrating this joyous occasion.

While the government is taking proactive steps in beating the virus, the entertainment industry is taking up the responsibility to look after the people within their fraternity. It is great to see actors are doing their bit to support the ecosystem of our entertainment industry that has brought smiles to Maharashtra.
