Bigg Boss has become one of the most widespread and controversial reality shows on Indian television. From the one that is hosted by Salman Khan, in the Hindi language to the regional ones, the fanbase of the show is infinite. Talking about the same the fourth season of the Marathi version of the show concluded on Sunday and actor Akshay Kelkar was announced as the winner.
While his achievement received mixed reactions from the audience, many demanded his participation in Bigg Boss 17. As reported by Hindustan Times, apart from the trophy, Akshay also received prize money ₹15,55,000, a gold bracelet and a cheque of Rs 5 lakhs. He also won the Finolex Pipes captain of the season award during the Grand Finale. Hosted by filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar, the theme of the show was ‘All is well’, which meant contestants should hope that everything will be fine.
For the unversed, he competed against Apurva Nemlekar Kiran Mane, Amruta Dhongade and Rakhi Sawant during the finale, who secured second, third, fourth and fifth place respectively. The show aired on Colors Marathi and Voot with 16 contestants and three wild card entrants.
Talking about the fans, after he was announced a winner, they took to social media to post congratulatory messages. Many remember late actor Siddharth Shukla, who had worn a similar jacket during the grand finale of Bigg Boss 13. Others went on to tell the makers to make him one of the contestants in Bigg Boss 17.
Kelkar rose to fame with many television serials like Bhakharwadi, Don Cutting 2, Nima Denzongpa, Be Dune Daha and the Marathi movie Takatak 2.
