Sandeep Patil who was a skilled batsman of the Indian Cricket team in 1983, is now enjoying his retirement, but Bollywood wants to retell his tale on the silver screen. Sandeep was a nightmare for bowlers. His shots against both fast bowlers or spinners were equally sharp and he was also known for his medium-pace bowling.
Patil scored 51 not out from just 32 balls against England in the semi-final of the 1983 World Cup thus, paving our way to the trophy into the finals of the tournament. Indian cricket team won the World Cup under the leadership of Kapil Dev in the year 1983 and this wouldn’t have been possible without Patil’s contribution.
Now Kabir Khan is bringing this historic achievement on the silver screen. Chirag Patil, son of Sandeep Patil, will be seen sharing the screen with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in Kabir Khan’s upcoming Hindi film ‘83’, by Nadiadwala Grandsons production. The film is set to release in April 2020. This film involves a star-packed cast like Addinth Kothare, Ammy Virk, Hardy Sandhu, Saquib Salee, Tahir Bahsin and more.
The striking similar looks, a natural cricket talent and a talent for acting were few of the reasons why actor Chirag Patil, was roped in to play his father’s role in the film. The father-son duo is now promoting the film together. As a matter of fact, Sandeep Patil rejoices on the fact that the ‘Nakli is as good as Asli’ Sandeep Patil in 83!
Chirag started his acting career with TV series ‘Yek Number’ on the small screen. He was last seen in the Marathi film ‘Vajandar’ opposite Sai Tamhankar. 'Asehi Ekada Vhave', 'Le Gaya Saddam' and 'Wake Up India' are few more of his works. This film will also set Chirag’s feet in the Hindi film world.
